Dead Man, Dead Man (Original)

23:29 Oct 13 2017
Times Read: 215

Walking the streets alone with my thoughts,
my mind raced with anger and plot.
"To what is my meaning?" My brain said reeling,
there is no meaning to this thought.

Rain fell on my coat, soaked the garment,
as water seeped through my hair.
My boots smacked against the puddled ground,
as I walked through the chocking air.

Wonderment emerged with hunger and urges,
my gums itched with increasing pain.
A heartbeat was heard, though not mine,
I gleam with an extreme hope of gain.

By an alley I passed ready,
my eyes looked too clearly.
A masculine figure scurried,
wounded and very weary.

I stopped in my tracks with wide eyes,
smelled the air as it turned sweet.
Blood drops fell against the ground,
and emerged from the man as if large sweat from such heat.

My thoughts were no longer clouded,
the voices went quiet.
With breaths quickened I begun to follow,
always content on being completely silent.

He coughed and sneezed, with sickness indeed,
time was not surely his friend.
His arm went around his gut,
where the blood flowed to no end.

With a sharp turn he spun in fear,
unable to yell and run.
In view my eyes were burning,
I began to endure my fun.

Claws were launched towards his neck,
grabbing the rough and wet skin.
My smile grew wider and it couldn't be kinder,
ready to commit the sin.

The glint of surprise stopped my time,
a knife had been revealed.
The man was brave with a strength that he gave,
revealing a wound that had healed.

"How dare he!" I thought,
aware of the danger.
The man laughed,
aware of my anger.

The blood was fake from another man's wake,
things were about to turn hide.
Remember that knife, that would give me such strife,
he plunged it right into my side.

I yelled and screamed with the metal stuck in me.
falling to the ground without any pride in the fact that I had been tricked.

I clenched my eyes as he loomed close to my face.
I see his eyes, so very different from mine.

No words did I speak until his voice creeped out in a hush whisper.
Wrenching the cold metal from my body he pointed the wet blade to my throat.

"Dead Man, Dead Man... Can you scream like I can?"
